4 Best Web Hosting Singapore 2019

4 Best Web Hosting Singapore 2019

There are many web hosting companies around the world and Singapore is not an exception. However, there are some that are better than others in terms of pricing, storage space and most importantly, the response time and server speed.

Through experiences and our personal analysis, we list the top 4 best Web Hosting in Singapore comparing its price, speed and value for your money. Do note that the listings are not in any particular order as all four are different in its plans, and you should only choose them based on your requirements.

Here are some key factors that a good host should have.

Speed

Having a fast server is no doubt one of the must-have a good Web Hosting company should have. Your visitors would not have the time and patience to wait for a slow website to load. This would lead them to bounce and exit your website.

A fast website not only keeps your visitors engaged, it is also good for your SEO. The website speed is one of the signals that Google takes into account in their site-ranking algorithm. That said, website speed really contributes to your website being ranked high in Google’s SERP.

Reliability/Uptime

Reliability is important as you do not want a potential lead to visit your website, only to find that it is down.

Security

Security is important to protect your brand. A disfigured website would not only give a bad impression on your visitors but also leads to a loss of data. If you are hosting an e-commerce website with user account details and credit card information, it would be detrimental to everyone involved and may even land you on the wrong side of the law.

Customer Service

Customer service is very important if you have to solve an issue related to your website hosting. A good customer support service would not only ensure that the matter is addressed promptly, but they are also trained to tackle almost any problem you shall face.

Pricing

The price you pay per year is undoubtedly a deciding factor when picking a hosting company. However, this should not come before important features such as Speed, Security and Reliability.

Storage space

Storage space is important if your website is heavy in contents. Hosting your emails together with your website also consumes much of your storage space.

Value added

Value added services such as free SSL, free daily/weekly backups are great features which may save you a few dollars on top of your hosting plans every year.

1. Enchant Hosting

Enchant hosting is one of the fastest hosting providers in Singapore. Our servers are all located in Singapore, giving your visitors a faster loading speed. Enchant Hosting is a self-hosted private server.

Features:

  • Speed – A+
  • Unlimited Bandwidth
  • SSD Storage
  • Lowest plan: 5GB, $10 per month
  • Free for Enchant’s clients.
  • Unlimited emails
  • Free SSL
  • 24 hours support

If you are looking to develop a new website, we provide a free web hosting package for you.

2. Vodien

Vodien is one of Singapore’s oldest web hosting company. It was once a web design company, now one of Singapore’s top web hosting company.

Based on experience, Vodien has one of the fastest servers in Singapore and also gives a fuss-free customer support experience. Our small issues were addressed relatively fast while more complex issues would take more than a day.

Customer support on the live chat panel is pretty fast, however it may take some time for the agent to make a reply, usually around 3 minutes. They should work on improving customer support

Features:

  • Speed – A
  • Unlimited Bandwidth
  • HDD Storage – slower than SSD storage, SSD storage option available for premium packages.
  • Lowest plan: 15GB, $10 per month
  • Unlimited emails

To keep up with its peers, Vodien should add more value to their plan giving free SSLs from Let’s Encrypt, which is free.

3. Siteground

Siteground is a popular hosting provider known globally. It is headquartered in Bulgaria. The servers are relatively fast and customer support is also great.

When you head over to their website and onto the web hosting section, you will find that they have a “Special Price” of $3.95 USD per month for their base 20GB hosting plan. If you opt for the 1 year hosting package, you will find that the “Special Price” is no longer applicable for you and the renewal price will return back to $11.95 USD per month.

To us, the price is quite misleading and there is no clear statement that the special price will not be applicable anymore after the first year. This, of course, came as a shock to us and some of our clients who hosted with them.

Siteground basic hosting plan

Features:

  • Speed – A
  • Unlimited Bandwidth
  • Lowest plan: 10GB, $3.95 USD per month, $11.95 USD on subsequent renewals.
  • Unlimited emails
  • Free CDN
  • Free SSL and HTTPS

Although we were pretty disappointed in the lack of transparency for the renewal prices, I would say that Siteground offers one of the fastest hosting packages as they have data centres based in Singapore. They managed to value-add quite a bit by giving free SSLs (which comes at no costs to them).

4. Exabytes

Exabytes is a name that most people will hear about when talking about web hosting. Their VPS plans are well known to be one of the most competitively priced among its counterparts.

Features:

  • Speed – A
  • Unlimited Bandwidth
  • Lowest plan: 10GB, $3.99 SGD per month
  • HDD Storage, SSD available too
  • 10 email accounts
  • Free SSL and HTTPS

Although their standard hosting plans may seem a little lacklustre compared to their counterparts, if you are looking for VPS plans, you should definitely give them a try.

Verdict

Our verdict is simple. If you don’t already have a website and are looking to develop one, go with Enchant as we provide free hosting for our clients, saving you the cost. If you’d like a more private environment, you should go for Exabytes’ VPS plans. For a fast shared hosting option, you should go for Siteground’s shared hosting plans as you will get free SSLs. You may also go for Vodien too but bear in mind that you’d have to purchase an SSL certificate if you want the green bar “Secure” icon next to your website’s URL.
